“The opportunity I bring to you, Lions, is this: To foster and sponsor

the work of the American Foundation for the Blind. Will you not help

me hasten the day when there shall be no preventable blindness; no

little deaf, blind child untaught; no blind man or woman unaided? I

appeal to you Lions, you who have your sight, your hearing, you who

are strong and brave and kind. Will you not constitute yourselves

Knights of the Blind in this crusade against darkness?”

The 2023 Earth Day Mobile Bay Event was on April 22nd. The Event went from 10 am to 6 pm, and we had 12 Club members man our new Pop Up Tent throughout various times of the day. Four of the 12 are in the photo. They are from left to right: Lion Tom Johnston, Lion Laurel Holland, Lion Beth Johnston, and Lion Tom Holland. It was a Chamber of Commerce Day weather wise, and the turn out was terrific. We talked to a lot of people about what Lionism is, and how it serves those in need on the Eastern Shore.

Earth Day 2023

On May 12, 2023 the Fairhope Lions Club, in partnership with Alabama Lions Sight, Prodisee Pantry, and the Alabama Free Clinic, sponsored a Vision Screening Event at Prodisee Pantry where 43 clients from Prodisee Pantry and Alabama Free Clinic were given complete eye exams and provided prescription glasses. WPMI Channel 15 and Fox 10 News from Mobile were present to record the event and conduct interviews with patients and supporting members of the event. Pictured are supporting members from Alabama Free Clinic and the Fairhope Lions Club that were there for the event. Lions exist to Serve, and serve we did.

Fairhope Lions Club 17th Annual Golf Tournament Thank You!
Thanks to the support of a very giving community, our 17th Annual Golf Tournament held on October 1, 2023, exceeded last year’s record setting event in money raised and player participation. The generosity of Players and Sponsors who participated in this year’s Tournament will enable us to provide eye exams and glasses for those in need, feed the hungry, fight childhood cancer & diabetes, and provide help where needed here on the Eastern Shore. THANK YOU again for your support and we hope to see you at next year’s tournament scheduled for October 6th.
Our Lion Family
Fairhope Lions, I hope this message finds you all in high spirits and filled with a sense of purpose. Today, I want to take a moment to express from the depths of my heart the profound joy and privilege we share as Lions Club members in serving our communities. Each one of you is a testament to the unwavering spirit of compassion and dedication that defines our Lions family, and I do mean FAMILY! When I reflect on our collective efforts and the impact we make, I am reminded of the true essence of service. It is a calling that transcends boundaries, unites diverse individuals, and empowers us to create lasting change. As members of The Fairhope Lions Club, we have embraced this calling with open hearts and have committed ourselves to a journey that is both humbling and immensely rewarding. When I review our Service statistics it puts all of this front and center for me, and I hope you remember this impact when... -you are in the middle of a stressful week and you still find time to make it to a meeting. -you volunteer for a leadership position even though you feel more maxed out than a credit card. -you are involved in fund raising events, recruiting events, or volunteer service. -Life is beating you up, and you still donate your time, energy, and resources to our club. This reminds me what we do MATTERS! I love my Lions Family! Yours in Lionism, Chad Jackson Past President Fairhope Lions Club
